Dr. Gerlie Tatlonghari

Program Head, Research and Thought Leadership, The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)

Dr. Gerlie Tatlonghari is the Program Head of the Research and Thought Leadership Department of Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA). A licensed environmental planner and socio-economist, she brings extensive expertise in gender, agricultural and rural development, and environmental planning. Prior to joining SEARCA, she has led and supported research and policy initiatives with organizations such as International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), UN Women, and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Her interdisciplinary work bridges social sciences and planning, with a strong focus on gender equality, climate resilience, and inclusive development. Dr. Tatlonghari earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and completed her Ph.D. in Social Work, specializing in gender and climate change, from Monash University.
