Marilique Nijmeijer is an Associate Professional Officer working on climate change and sustainable bioeconomy for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), based in the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand, where she supports the work on rice landscapes, with a focus on circular solutions, biomass utilization and investments. Before this, Marilique was based in Rome, Italy, working for the FAO Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment. Prior to joining FAO, Marilique worked as a Policy Officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands at the Permanent Representation in Rome and the Embassy in Cairo, and as a Policy Officer for Clim-Eat. Marilique holds a master’s degree in security and international law from the University of Manchester.
