Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, M.S.

Minister of National Development Planning, Republic of Indonesia

Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, M.S. is the Minister of National Development Planning of Indonesia and Head of Bappenas, appointed in October 2024. He brings decades of experience in academia, public policy, and sustainable development to his ministerial role, with a strong commitment to data-driven and inclusive national planning. 

Prior to his appointment, he served as a professor at IPB University, where he focused on agricultural economics, cooperative development, and rural entrepreneurship. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in promoting sustainable food systems, farmer empowerment, and national development strategies that balance economic growth with environmental responsibility. 

In addition to his academic and policy work, Mr. Pambudy has advised various government institutions and international organizations on development and economic cooperation. He holds degrees in economics and agricultural business from IPB University and has contributed extensively to Indonesia’s vision for inclusive and sustainable growth towards “Golden Indonesia 2045.”
