Ying Li
Deputy Director of International Soil Health Research Center in China Agricultural University
Ying Li is Deputy Director of International Soil Health Research Center in China Agricultural University. She got MSc and PhD degrees in Plant Biotechnology and Plant Science in Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Her current work focuses on researching and promoting regenerative agriculture transition in response to climate change, building a multi-stakeholder cooperation platform, improving soil health and biodiversity by scaling regenerative practices and farmland carbon sequestration to increase the farmer resilience and strengthen food and nutrition security. The work in ISHRC accelerates these efforts to further build a resilient and regenerative food system, protect water resource, and increase farmers’ income. Ying has research experience in NGO, academia and private sector. Ying Li was Director of Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture in The Nature Conservancy to mainstream regenerative paradigm shift to rewire food-nature nexus in China. She has conducted scientific research at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and multinational food enterprises. She has rich scientific knowledge and technology application experience in biotechnology, plant breeding, food safety management and sustainable supply chain.
